Helping Children With Loss
This four-week workshop is for adults who want to help children deal with death, divorce, pet loss moving or other losses. This workshop teaches parents how to initiate in their children life long, healthy response patterns to grief and to empower them with effective methods for dealing with loss.
There are many experiences that can generate feelings of grief in a child such as moving to a new neighborhood or a sudden and unexpected change in family. This workshop helps parents establish a foundation for dealing effectively with a child's loss and to understand the impact of loss on their child. What is grief in a child's eyes? What are some common myths parents have relied upon to teach their children about dealing with grief? How do children understand the concept of past and future?
This workshop helps parents communicate accurately about emotions their children feel about their losses.
